Hello friends and family,

We have officially arrived to Szentkiraly, our home for the next ten days. We spent nearly 20 hours in airports and on planes until we arrived in Budapest where Paul and Tanya were standing outside of arrivals waiting to greet us. It was great to see their friendly faces and know that we had almost made it to our final destination.

After dropping off our luggage at the hotel, we went for dinner along the river and then took a bit of a walk to tour around the parliament and St. Stephen’s cathedral. The team did their best to stay awake until a decent hour in efforts to win the fight against jet leg.

On Saturday we woke up to have breakfast and a quick team meeting. Paul and Tanya shared about their vision surrounding VBS and the ministry of Camp Falcon Rock. 2 Corinthians 5:17 is a verse that they encouraged the team to reflect on as we aim to share new life with others and be ministers of reconciliation. Following this meeting we grabbed our luggage and started on our 7 hour drive to Szentkiraly. We arrived to have dinner ready for us and met many of the villagers, camp staff and families that we will be spending the next couple weeks with.

Today we started the day off early as we headed to Ardo, a village about 45 minutes away, to have church. We met with the community there and Tricia had the opportunity to share what God has been teaching her lately. Shauna and Kaytee were also able to share a song with the congregation and Pastor Miki and Paul spoke. Following the service we went for lunch and had some free time to fellowship with each other and the locals. In the afternoon service Josh preached to the Szentkiraly congregation on James 1. He shared the importance of true religion, bring rooted in Christ and the expression of the heart. Steph also had the opportunity to share a little bit of her testimony with the church.

It was incredibly beautiful to hear fellow believers sing and pray to the same God we serve in a different language. Together we sang in English and felt a sense of unity with our brothers and sisters. We have been extremely blessed by the gracious  community here as they have welcomed us with open arms and hearts.

The next few days will be filled with VBS and visits to different villages. Please pray for us as we dive into daily camps and learn more about the format and routines of the days. Also, pray for the communities that we head into, that they would be open to the message we have to share and that we will be the hands and feet of Christ.

Blessings to you all,
