Join a Ministry Team

We all have a part to play in our church family.

Volunteering at Brentview

We want to empower hundreds of volunteers to take ownership of our weekly ministries. God is on the move and we invite you to join with us and Jesus in making our church, city, and world better.

Are you willing to help out? Our needs are as diverse as the people who attend our services. Find out how you can get involved and serve others in our church community.

There are many opportunities for you to help out on a team each week on the Brentview campus. If you’re interested, click the button of the relevant ministry area below. After filling in a quick bit of information, a team leader will be in touch!

Sunday Volunteer Teams

Kids (0 - grade 4)

Serve in one service and worship in the other! A great chance to help shape young lives and to create a sense of belonging, worth, and safety in church. We need 12+ volunteers per service. The commitment is for about 1 hour and 20 mins. Police Background Check is required.

Production

(sound, lights, slides, cameras, etc.)

This team runs sound, lights, cameras, computers, and so much more on a Sunday morning. We need 8+ in each worship service to help make the worship gatherings meaningful for all who participate. This is a crucial ministry. No previous experience required, just a teachable attitude and a heart to serve.

Connections

(Hosts, Greeters, Connection Centre)

Do you love making an environment feel safe, welcoming, and fun? Consider becoming a greeter or serving in some other capacity on a Sunday.

Music

Do you have experience playing drums, guitar, bass, etc. in a "contemporary band" setting? Interested in possibly trying out to see if this unique ministry would be a fit?

Midweek Volunteer Teams

Student Ministries

Our youth group (grades 5-12) needs volunteers who are ready to mentor and support students during their teenage years. (Background check required)

Meals & Community Pantry

Would you like to be part of serving our city through preparing food, organizing items, or preparing food? However you desire to serve, you can help the ongoing efforts to be a church that is FOR Calgary.

Shared meals must be prepared in the Brentview Kitchen, so if you would like to organize a group to come and prepare meals. You can also be part of this project in many other ways!

FAQ

Who oversees our volunteers?

Each department is led by church staff members. However, if you need a first contact in this area as you discern the needs in our church and your passions, Julie Peters (our Director of Volunteers and Missional Partnerships) is a great person to reach out to.

What kind of commitment is required to volunteer?

We ask that you be committed to what you have committed to. In other words, if you say you will be available and present to be a greeter during the 9am service, then you are “all in” on showing up with a Jesus-centred posture to love others. Also, various ministries have different levels of commitments. Some ask for a weekly commitment while others perhaps involve a rotation of volunteer teams.
